TIPs#12#

There is one truth that you are going to have to face if you want to really succeed in your affiliate marketing business: It requires selling!

Luckily it doesn't require hard selling or cold calling. You are dealing with people that have given you permission to contact them with your offers and information.

However, you still need to realize that in order to maximize your profits you are going to need to persuade your subscribers to purchase your products and the products that you are promoting.

When done properly you will not offend anyone, and you will help more people by getting them what they need in their life.

Tips and Tricks To Be More Persuasive

Tip #1 - Tell a story

People can't help but get drawn into a story. Try to find something in your life that is worth putting into a story in your email.

If you can't think of something for that particular product, then make up a fictional story (and tell your readers that it is fictional).

Some of the best sellers are also story-tellers, so start crafting that skill right now.

Tip #2 - Believe in the product

If you truly believe in the product or service that you are promoting then let your readers know this! Don't shy away from saying "I know that this will help you if you apply it."

When you develop a good relationship with your readers they will trust what you say and will want what you want.

Tip #3 - Send multiple emails

It is very rare that I will send only one email to promote a product. From my testing I have found that by sending four emails instead of one you can easily double your sales.

If you don't send out the other emails then you are missing out a lot of sales.

Tip #4 - Talk about benefits, not features

Does the course teach list building, or does it show you how to build your own profitable list that will make you money?

Instead of saying what the product does, say what it will do for the reader. That is a benefit rather than a feature.

Tip #5 - Use multiple methods of contact

I love email marketing. However, if it is all you do then you are losing out on sales.

There are several other ways to persuade your readers. You should consider using audio and video on your pages, teleseminars, phone and fax broadcasting (with permission of course), and even offline marketing (for example sending out direct mail).

If used properly, these methods will increase your relationship with your readers, and make you more money.

Tip #6 - Consistency is the key

Whatever you decide to do, you need to be consistent.

If you email once a week and then decide to email three times in one week, you should expect negative results. If you always give good content in teleseminars and then you host a teleseminar where you just sell a product, then you will also get negative results too!

It is impossible to say what methods are best for each market (e.g. should you email daily, weekly, or monthly?), you need to test to see which works best for you. However, once you start doing something, you should keep at it and stay consistent at it (unless you find out that it really is a bad idea).

Day 17: Relationship Building

Creating an autoresponder followup series

You've made it a long way through this course! If you have been applying all of the steps that I have been showing you, you should be well on your way to success.

Today's lesson deals with the creation of an autoresponder course. Before I start teaching you about what to do with an autoresponder course, I want to tell you the reason why you should create one in the first place.

It's all about relationship!

If you haven't figured it out by now, the whole reason that you build a list is so that you can develop a relationship of trust with your visitors.

People like to buy from those that they like and trust. If you don't build that trust, or if you violate that trust in any way, your profits will decrease significantly.

One great way to build trust is by giving good quality information.

Now, there are some very good marketers who will argue that you don't have to give away good information for free in order to build a relationship. There are others who will argue the opposite. In my opinion they are both right, and I am going to show you why.

Give Your BEST Content For Free

Now wait a second, if you give away your best content for free, why would anybody buy from you?

That is a typical question from many beginner marketers. The truth is, you won't be able to sell anything until you have gained your reader's trust, and what better way to get it then by showing them what you are really worth?

However, if you give everything away for free without selling at the same time your readers will become accustomed to hand-outs and won't respond well to offers.

So how do you know what the best content is that you should give away for free?Tell people WHAT to do, and then sell them information on HOW to do it!

Think about it - this 20-day course tells you what to do.It gives you a ton of good quality information (in fact, the BEST information that I possess in this subject). However, I only show you how to do it if you are a "paid" member.

Does that mean you need to be a paid member in order to apply this?

Of course not!

You can take the "What to do" information and apply it without buying any "How to do it" information. It all depends on what you know.

If I tell you that you need to set up an Aweber account and you are able to figure out how to do it on your own, then you will succeed just fine. But there are many people need you to show them "how to do it" in step by step instruction in order for them to fully understand it.

This is the key to delivering high-quality information for free and still being able to sell products and services as well. It also allows you to show your readers how much you really know, and more importantly, how much you really care about whether they succeed or not.

How to find content for your autoresponder...
Now that you know that you need to create an autoresponder, but how do you decide what to write?

My favorite way is to simply look at the questions that your readers have already asked you and write articles about them. By simply answering their questions you will find that their loyalty will increase faster than anything else.

Encourage your readers to keep asking you questions so that you can continue to get new ideas on what to write (and what to promote as well).

If you hate to write...

I receive emails from readers who say that they don't like writing or that they aren't very good at it. I have two responses to this.

First, you need to start practicing now by writing articles, and write even more articles. It is the most important skill that every marketer should work on improving.

Second, there are other sources that you can use to find articles to put into your newsletters. The best place to go is article directories, such as eZineArticles at http://www.ezinearticles.com

You can use these articles as your autoresponder course as they were without any modification. You can also have the articles ghost-written. This basically means you hire somebody to write the article for you, and then you put your name on it. Typically you will pay between $5 to $15 per article. You can go to http://www.scriptlance.com to find freelance ghost-writers.
